The Pensacola Bay International Film Festival was founded in 2002 by a group of dedicated film fans led by Tom Roush. Roush is the area film commissioner and a former manager of acquisitions at Screen Gems, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The festival launched in March 2003, with special guest Tony Shalhoub who screened his feature film MADE UP. More than 50 films were screened in four intense days across the city.
You'd have to be a polar bear to enjoy swimming in January," so say locals at the Flora-Bama Lounge & Package. On Thursday, New Year's Day, at high noon, "Polar Bears" will dip in the Gulf of Mexico at the Florida/Alabama line.
What is a polar bear dip? A group of people (size usually depends on the weather) joins hands and wade into the Gulf. Those who are a little more ambitious take a plunge headfirst into "icy" Gulf waters, sometimes dragging their friends with them.
On Saturday, March 1, 2008, the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation will host the annual "Denim & Rhinestones" ball. The event begins at 6 pm, and will be held at New World Landing, 600 South Palafox St., Pensacola.
The event, which is a five-course gourmet dinner and upscale silent auction, raises funds for Baptist Health Care Foundation’s programs and services.
Downtown Pensacola will play host to SpringFest. Three days of music, food, & fun. SpringFest is coming back to the streets of Pensacola and will once again take its place as the city's premier music event.
Since it was founded in 1991, SpringFest has been Pensacola’s signature event with attendance as high as 75,000.
There will be over 20 food and beverage outlets on the festival site. Please support these vendors by not bringing your own food or beverage items.

On May 17th, 2008, "Art for the Heart," benefiting Mended Little Hearts and Hearts of Hope of Pensacola will take place in Gulf Breeze, FL.
The event will run from 5-8 PM and all guests are encouraged to bring a bottle of their favorite wine to share at the event. "Bring a bottle, bring a case, bring your favorite and let's all taste!" Other events will include a gallery night and silent auction.
