During their initial 14 years of existence (1973-1987), Journey was a top touring and recording band. Even with all the success the members of the band were constantly changing. The only one who remained a member during this entire period was guitarist Neal Schon, who had been a member of Santana in the early 70's. The original band got its name from a contest on KSAN-FM in San Francisco. The concert will take place at the Pensacola Civic Center on September 21, 2009 at 7:00pm.
The Destin Crab Trap Triathlon will be held on October 10, 2009. The race will begin at 7:00am Saturday morning. There is No Race Day Registration! Package pickup will be at the Destin Crab Trap park on Friday afternoon and raceday morning.
The 29th Annual Pensacola-Tallahassee Catholic Charismatic Conference will be held January 8 – 10, 2010, at the Edgewater Beach Resort on Panama City Beach. The Theme is: Lord, to whom shall we go. . . (John 6:68). Speakers include Dr Tom Neal, Fr Eugene Pathe, and Bishop John Ricard.

Nine-time Grammy winner, Bonnie Raitt will be performing live at the Pesacola Civic Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Her lastest release, "Souls Alike" is the singer, songwriter and guitarist's 18th album. The concert will also feature special guest Ryan Shaw.
