New York has the Ball Drop in Time's Square, Atlanta the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta... but leave it to Key West to do it just right in several entertaining ways... a conch shell drop at Sloppy Joe’s Bar… the Red High Heel Drop with drag queen Sushi at Bourbon St. Pub/New Orleans House and… Schooner Wharf Bar lowers a “Pirate Wench” from the mast of the Schooner Liberty Clipper, accompanied with a cannon blast to be sure!
On Saturday, December 12th Key Largo will be holding its annual Key Largo Holiday Boat Parade. This year's theme is "Hooray for Hollywood."

When I think of a "kid-friendly" restaurant, it's not because there is a menu to color with a free pack of crayons, or a roving clown blowing up balloons. The things I look for are things like space to move around in (like a patio, a lawn, or a beach), friendly staff who are at least open to the idea that your child might know how to behave, and food that shows kids a bit of respect.
Avast, me Hearties! It's time to chart yer course for the Isle of Bones...Cayo Hueso as Key West and the Conch Republic welcome the 10th Annual Pirates in Paradise Festival. Pack up yer cutlass, don yer garb, grab yer mate and join us for a full week of mischief and merrymaking that features a host of swashbuckling events for buccaneers and wenches of all ages!
Every year Key West goes lobster crazy when the "open" lobster season officially opens in early August. Throughout August many area restaurants offer to cook up any lobster lucky divers bring in, and all have lobster specials that will delight your taste buds and go easy on the wallet!
