2005 Greetings Traveler,
But not all of the news is bad. Power has been restored in much of the city. The flood waters are nearly gone. More and more businesses are reopening every day. And the historic French Quarter remains virtually undamaged. New Orleans is a much-loved member of the Tourist Network family and we look forward to being a part of rebuilding our great city. New Orleans Television (N.O.TV) will be on the air soon with updates of what's going on around town. We've also set up a Hurricane Katrina Resource Center on TripSmarter.Com to help spread the word about employment and housing opportunities for Evacuees. Many of our friends have contributed to our efforts and we truly appreciate everyone's involvement. It won't be long before the sounds of street cars and trumpets fill the city again. New Orleans is rebuilding... one step at a time. Elsewhere in the Southeast, the days are getting shorter and the weather will soon begin to cool. Autumn is a wonderful time of year for special events and festivals. From Fantasy Fest in Key West to the Indian Summer Festival in Panama City Beach, this Fall promises to be quite exciting!
