Greetings Traveler, 'Tis the season, which means there are many exciting events happening all over the Southeast. Take a day or two while you're traveling and enjoy a local festival or holiday celebration in your favorite city. If you're near Atlanta, you may want to check out Stone Mountain's "A Southern Mountain Christmas". For those on the Emerald Coast, you can watch the boats and fireworks during Destin's Holiday on the Harbor. And if you're in the Big Easy, don't miss the 2-story tall Mr. Bingle at New Orleans' famous Celebration in the Oaks. Speaking of New Orleans, an important tradition is set to return to the Crescent City in January, as Notre Dame and LSU battle it out in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Football fans in Atlanta also have something to cheer about, as home-state favorites, the Georgia Bulldogs, take on Virgina Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. And, of course, there's New Year's Eve! You won't have to look far to find a party on December 31st! The Schooners New Year's Eve Celebration is always a favorite in Panama City Beach. Locals and visitors in Myrtle Beach have plenty of places to celebrate the New Year. And Key West welcomes the New Year as only Key West could... with high heels and conch shells! Just remember to be safe! Happy Holidays and have a wonderful New Year!!! - The TripSmarter.Com Webteam
