The Hyatt Regency Atlanta became famous when it opened in 1967 as the world's first atrium hotel, boasting a revolutionary 22-story atrium and marble lobby designed by renowned Atlanta architecture John Portman. The hotel towered above and illuminated the Atlanta skyline, at one time claiming "tallest building" status in Atlanta. The Hyatt remains a beacon at the core of the downtown corridor, and, even with a name that carries global recognition, this property gives way to the southern hospitality and charm of Atlanta.
Following a long day of travel I was looking forward to a little "quiet time" before an arduous schedule of meetings...
