New Orleans Jazz Centennial Celebration
New Orleans, LA -(NOJCC), www.jazzcent.com, a tax-exempt organization created in 1994 by the Louisiana Music Commission to develop innovative jazz programs to bring to young audiences and communities throughout the region and the world, is proud to bring back New Orleans' favorite summer tradition with the 8th Annual Satchmo Club Strut, the musical club crawl down Frenchmen Street, Friday, August 1, 2008.

The NOJCC "Strut" officially kicks off the weekend long Satchmo Summerfest, www.fqfi.org, celebrating Louis Armstrong and jazz in all its forms. The Strut serves as both a fundraiser for our non-profit jazz education outreach programs and a promotional celebration of Frenchmen Street.
This year's event will feature brilliant New Orleans musicians including Ellis Marsalis, Irvin Mayfield, and Charmaine Neville as well as luminous international musical greats such as trumpeter Yoshio Toyama, the Louis Armstrong of Japan.
Wristbands are sold that allow entrance into all of the Frenchmen St music venues which will feature extraordinary jazz performers for this distinctive night. VIP wristbands are also available which include special balcony parties featuring top performers in an intimate setting, food and beverage from notable New Orleans eateries, and entrance into limited seating venues such as Snug Harbor.
We invite all music lovers to join us in celebrating the unique musical experience that is Frenchmen Street in the cultural capitol of North America- New Orleans!
